CEATEC 2007 - Major Brand Highlights

CEATEC 2007 is held under the theme of ‘Experience the Frontline of Digital Convergence’ at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from October 2 to 6. This year’s CEATEC has upgraded its image as an international CE trade show while earlier years were more characterized as a world forum place for the latest technologies.

Toshiba presented its HD-DVD new line-up, high-end LCD TV ‘REGZA Z3500’ series, and DVD/HDD hybrid recorder models while introducing Gigabeat music player line-up ‘v41’ and Gigashot A series supporting Full HD/MPEG4 AVC. Besides, it showcased a prototype of Cosmio laptop equipped with ‘SpursEngine’ and fuel battery.

Sony came out with the world’s first OLED TV ‘XEL-1’ which will be launched in Japan market on December 1, 2007. In addition, Sony displayed new Blu-ray recorder series including ‘BDZ-X90’, Bravia new models, the latest walkman, and dancing music player ‘Rolly’.

Panasonic introduced its new Viera Link technology with Viera PDP TV models and Blu-ray/DVD recorder line up ‘DIGA’. Also it displayed AVCHD camcorder, audio player ‘D-snap’ with SD card and new navigation brand ‘Strada’.

Mitsubishi unveiled its Blu-ray recorder supporting network service which enables users to enjoy various contents while having connection through cellular phones. It also introduced LCD TV line up ‘REAL’ series with ‘REAL Link’ function.

Sharp showed Blu-ray recorder ‘BD-HDW20/15’, world’s largest 108-inch LCD TV, 2cm-thickness slim size LCD TV and next generation LCD TV concept models.

HITACHI introduced its 1.9cm-thick 32-inch LCD TV and IVDR TV ‘Wooo’ series which is expected to be released this November. Moreover, it displayed Blu-ray camcorder and front projector.

JVC revealed new 4K projector and D-ILA projector while displaying its 3.7-thick 42-inch LCD TV ‘LH805’ with built-in wood cone models.
